Los Angeles Bans Single-Use Plastic Bags
Today Los Angeles became the largest U.S. City to enact a ban on single-use retail plastic bags. When the ban goes into effect later this year, larger retailers will have a 6-month period to phase out these plastic bags, while smaller retailers will have a 12-month timeline. After the transition, retailers will be allowed to charge .10 per bag for paper shopping bags.
